Millwood Education are a leading supplier of nursery equipment and furniture. Previously, they had relied on building loyalty in their existing customer base, and word of mouth referrals as their main enquiry and sales source.

Fat Media were approached not only to design and build a user-friendly ecommerce website, but also to implement a detailed search engine optimisation strategy in order to grow brand awareness, traffic, and ultimately online sales. Magento 2 was the ideal platform for the Millwood Education website with its streamlined checkout system and its high speed performance which contributes to improved SEO rankings.

A long-standing client

We actually first began working with Millwood Education on their website back in 2008! Of course, web standards have moved on somewhat in the last 11 years and so their site has too. This has culminated in a full re-build of the site onto Magento 2 – the most recent and powerful version of Magento, and our go-to ecommerce solution. One of the key features of Magento 2 is Instant Purchase which allows returning customers to experience faster checkout, a main benefit of this being that websites with easier checkout systems have historically seen increased sales.

The new site includes a new site structure and accompanying mega menu, to help customers find the product for them as easily as possible. The basket and checkout pages have also been redesigned, again with user-experience in mind. Magento 2 also delivers optimum performance on mobile devices, ensuring Millwood Education customers have a consistent experience on every device.

Ongoing SEO

Over recent months our SEO team have been heavily involved on the Millwood Education website. Following an in-depth audit into the technical performance of the website set against stringent KPI’s and objectives, we set about improving the visibility of the website on search engines for key search terms.

Thanks to various technical SEO improvements, plus creating regular and optimised blog content, we have achieved some fantastic results, including:
