Our Challenge

Fat Media were tasked to redesign the Pork Farms website, initially to showcase their product structure more prominently on the website. Since this initial launch, we have been constantly working on new elements within the website to aid Pork Farms’ activity throughout the year such as Sampling Tours and so constantly evolving the website to improve and give users the most efficient and smooth journey possible.

As well as this, Pork Farms run several PR campaigns throughout each year, and Fat Media were required to come up with the online strategy for each campaign and facilitate each campaign on the website, such as the Pork Farms Board Games Championships and Pork Farms Pop Up Parties.

Part of our website brief was to create a place to house all campaign information that would happen throughout the year. We built the site in such a way that almost all elements were editable through the CMS, limiting the amount of Development time needed on each campaign and making the process smooth and efficient each time. Images, content, maps, nomination forms and galleries, amongst other functional elements, are all editable through the CMS and so making the site much more flexible for the Pork Farms team.

Ongoing SEO

Although initial on-site SEO was done when the site went live in 2016, we proposed to Pork Farms that regular technical SEO should be done to improve the site and content housed within it, to allow search engines to index the site as efficiently as possible. This has included updates to metadata, H1 tags, content audits and setting up appropriate redirects. Since starting our ongoing Search Engine Optimisation services, traffic to the site has increased by 210%!

Responsive, thoughtful, interface design

Our team produced a fully responsive brand website showcasing all products, a news hub for the brand to discuss the latest updates and goings on, information about the brand and all campaign microsites within the website.

Our quality control process includes device testing across a range of mobiles and tablets, from multiple manufacturers. With approximately half of Pork Farms’ traffic coming from mobiles and tablets, we made sure their site worked just as smoothly on all devices.

With a range of products best suited to a variety of occasions, a specific aim of the project was to display this more clearly on the website. Now with four clear categories all presented on one page, it is quick and simple for customers to find their perfect product.

The Pork Farms website is the perfect partner for their digital marketing and tv advertising campaigns, which run throughout the year.

Clever Campaigns

We have supported Pork Farms’ various PR campaigns with email, social media and content marketing strategies, to really maximise both the reach and engagement levels. These have included the Pork Farms Pop Up Parties, Your Pie Your Way, and the Pork Farms Board Games Championships – for which we won a CIPR Pride award alongside our agency partners KRPR.
