Our Challenge

HML is leading property and estate management company based in London with offices and clients throughout the country.

With over 50 years’ experience in the sector, HML had grown both organically and through acquisition reaching a point in 2015 where they were operating a total of 9 group websites – each operating under its own sub-brand based around a now dated logo style.

Fat Media were appointed to carry out a rebrand of the group incorporating each of its 11 sub-brands and to then unite these under a single group website supported by a range of well-designed and engaging marketing materials.

HML had a desire to move away from the rather dated image conveyed by its former branding and website design, to instead reflect its aspirations as a growing and increasingly influential business in the sector, namely:

Established and confident
Credible and reliable
Modern and clean
Memorable
A colour palette developed from existing brand colours to provide some continuity between old and new

Mobile Design

As with any of our website design projects, HML have a completely responsive design. This is vital not only for ease of use, but also to benefit organic search engine results - as Google now penalise sites which are not mobile-friendly.

Fat Media's branding work has unified the many sub-brands and paved the way for a suite of new marketing materials.

Branch Finder Functionality

To help HML customers get in touch with the right member of staff first time, we built in a branch finder function. By simply typing in their post code, users are presented with the office that is closest to them, along with comprehensive details on the services offered at that location.

User Experience Considerations

We employed both device and user testing on this project to ensure that HML's new site was simple to use by their customers. A choice of three text sizes is also available and simply changed at the click of a button for maximum accessibility. We also added a simple newsletter sign-up box to every page, so customers can easily stay up to date with the latest developments at HML.
