Our Challenge

TWA Hotel is an airport hotel based in the busy New York JFK airport. The state-of-the-art building contains 512 first-class guest rooms, the world’s biggest hotel gym, a selection of restaurants, bars, retail outlets, and a whole lot more.

TWA Hotel approached us to help create a bespoke booking system that offered its guests the option to book a room on an hourly basis. The existing system only offered the option for overnight bookings, meaning that guests looking for hourly stays were left having to pay the higher overnight rates – having a negative impact on occupancy rates.  

Our goal was to build a bespoke booking system that allowed guests to book a room on an hourly basis and help increase these occupancy rates for TWA Hotel – one of their primary key performance indicators.

Adding a Bespoke Booking System

Using cloud-based hotel management software, stayntouch, as a base, TWA Hotel now has a guest centric-property management system. We leveraged the PMS capabilities to create a more user-friendly and visually appealing platform with a  mobile, flexible, and intuitive checkout. We added high-resolution imagery, filtering options, and customer-friendly error handling messages to reflect the TWA Hotel brand tone of voice.

My Check Payment Provider

We integrated My Check payment into the booking system, a niche payment gateway that required custom coding. This one-click system enables us to add a digital wallet that is fully integrated with stayntouch, allowing TWA Hotel to add, store, and manage multiple payment methods. This also improved the digital booking experience with guests being able to choose rooms and check in and out with ease.

Overcoming the Hurdles

The client is based in New York, this meant that we had to factor the time difference into our communication and ensure that we kept them up to date on our progress and could interact with them when needed. Our responsiveness to their needs meant we were able to maintain a good relationship with the client, while also having strong ties with the two third-party providers, stayntouch and My Check.
