Fat Media develop fully-responsive site for YOTEL
We’re extremely proud to announce that we had the pleasure of working on the YOTEL website for the last few months. Inspired by first class travel, YOTEL translates the language of luxury airline travel into small but luxurious ‘cabins’. Uncompromisingly designed around guests, YOTEL City hotels are taking the essential elements of luxury hotels in smaller, smart spaces. Conceived for busy international travellers, YOTEL Airport hotels provide everything for a guest to relax, refresh, sleep and connect within global transportation hubs.
YOTEL currently operates three airport hotels in London Gatwick, London Heathrow and Amsterdam Schiphol airports; and one city hotel in the heart of Manhattan, New York. YOTEL is expanding rapidly with seven new hotels under development globally, including two new airport hotels set to open at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (2016) and Singapore Changi Airport (2018); and five new city hotels currently under construction in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (2017) Singapore Orchard Road (2017), Miami (2017), San Francisco (2017) and Dubai (2018).
This project featured a fully responsive website re-build on the Umbraco CMS, utilising custom built booking functionality. The development included custom integration with 2 Property Management Systems, 3 Payment gateways, Social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more), Google, Yahoo, and Trip Advisor.
The site was also launched to coincide with the Google algorithm update on 21/4/2015; so the site is fully responsive and fits with mobile-friendliness tests.
Nine of our developers had input on the project, from complex and ongoing involvement, to helping with the testing, bug fixing, and server set up.
Some of the more technical aspects include:
- 13,399 Lines of C# code used in total (server side only)
- 8,366 lines of Javascript
- 9,412 lines of Sass
“I’ve been delighted with Fat Media’s web development skills and their flexibility in meeting our requirements. With their help, we updated our website presentation layer, added responsive mobile, added a new Content Management System, changed our Airport Property management System, and migrated across to a new hosting environment. All without any major hitches.”
