Six of our Developers here at Fattie HQ added another impressive accolade to the agency last week after becoming Certified Umbraco Developers, taking our overall Umbraco team up to an impressive ten.

Over the last year we have invested in our already talented team by adding some extra resources right across Fat Media. Alongside this, our commitment to professional development has enabled us to offer specialist training in platforms such as Umbraco; further strengthening our position as a UK top 10 Digital Agency.

So, what is Umbraco?

As an open source platform, Umbraco is a Content Management System (CMS) that gives users full control over the content of their site and allows developers to quickly build upon the basic functionality of the platform.

Since its first open source introduction in 2004 Umbraco has developed into the platform of choice for some of the world’s leading brands, take your pick from over 250,000 sites - Sony, Sandisk, Microsoft and Ford have all counted themselves in.

Our fully qualified team have worked on a number of Umbraco websites over the last year, including projects for Blackburn College and Mitsubishi Pharmaceuticals.

Aside from the standard features which come with Umbraco we have created a whole host of additional modules such as video galleries, social plug ins, calendars, an extensive site search tool and much more. The flexibility offered by Umbraco, amongst other open source platforms such as Wordpress and Magento, which we also specialise in, means that we are able to offer our clients a comprehensive range of options.

Fat Media’s Technical Director, Mark Palacio is delighted with the latest accreditation, he said:

Umbraco allows our team to sell a product with a plethora of modules to choose from off the shelf and the ones we build for ourselves, it gives developers the freedom not to have to worry about the base CMS when they start developing so we can get straight into the requirements and importantly gives best value to our customers when we are building bespoke web systems for them in .Net, our chosen development environment for such projects.
