Fatties get involved in two charity events this weekend

This weekend sees a handful of our generous Fatties get involved with two separate charity events, raising money for two great causes along the way. It is testament to their dedication and commitment that both events involve feats of physical prowess. But for all the sweat (and hopefully no tears), they should be able to donate to charities who will benefit greatly from their contributions.

Lancaster Football Marathon 2015

Our brave entrants will take part in a football marathon on Saturday, raising money for Tackle Africa. The charity aims to deliver HIV education to young people in Africa, enabling them to enjoy a sport they love, and learn about sexual health at the same time. Taking place at the LRGS Memorial Playing Fields in Lancaster, squads of 8 will be playing 6-a-side football for a gruelling 12 hours. By the end there may be tired faces and a few blisters, but they will be for a worthy cause.

Bike Ride for Trinity Hospice

On Sunday we have more Fatties participating in a Manchester to Blackpool bike ride, raising money for Trinity Hospice. Funds raised will go towards Trinity’s mission to provide compassionate palliative care for those on the journey towards the end of life. By the end of 2020 they wish to provide this service for everyone on the Fylde Coast, granting them access to specialist care in a place of their choice. Starting at Old Trafford Football ground in Manchester and finishing at the South Promenade in Blackpool, the 60 mile route will be tough, but nothing our Fatties can’t handle.
