Fresh from being awarded a 'Hidden Gem' for customer service, from quality assurance scheme VAQAS, Leighton Hall went on to win the 'Best for Groups' award at the Lancashire Tourism Awards on Thursday. There were 21 categories and the winners for each of these categories will now be put forward to represent Lancashire in the National Awards which takes place in 2015.
Hosted and managed by Marketing Lancashire the Lancashire Tourism Awards is a celebration of all things Lancashire and a showcase of the best attractions, hotels and visitor experiences across the county. Industry experts judged the award on criteria such as customer service, improvements to the business, staff training, sustainability and accessibility.
Dressed to impress, the core team at Leighton Hall including our very own Kate attended the prestigious event in Blackpool’s stunning Tower Ballroom. There was a three course meal and entertainment before the awards were presented by BBC broadcaster, John Sergeant.
Sitting around the table Suzie Reynolds, Owner of Leighton Hall added up that the team around her had been a part of Leighton for 188 years. She said: "I cannot tell you how thrilled we are to have received both these awards. It’s the first time we’ve been presented accolades of this calibre, and I feel it acknowledges and recognises all the hard work put in by all our team. The ten core staff have 188 years service between them, which tells you all you need to know about loyalty and the "family” we are so lucky to have here at Leighton. It was a fabulous evening and I am so proud of all the team”.
Kate echoed the praise from Suzie and added:"I am thrilled to win this award as the group market is so important to Leighton Hall and to be able to shout from the rooftops that Leighton is the best attraction for group visitors in Lancashire, is wonderful. Leighton's customer service is exceptional and all the team work very hard, so it is well deserved. I am really looking forward to building on this success; taking the attraction even further."
