A few glasses were raised by Fat Media’s award-winning design team at the recent high-profile launch of a major brewery rebrand.
Celebrating its 15th anniversary, York Brewery called in the Fat Media branding experts to create an exciting new corporate image – but one that also retained elements associated with the company’s heritage.
Chief designer Robin Zahler’s smart logo adapts the cross of St George, used as part of the previous brand, to a ‘Y’ shape instantly identifiable as representing the city of York, within whose walls the beers are brewed.
The result is a clean, proud and professional modern design which works neatly across a portfolio of beers and brewery branded products.
The re-brand has already been well received in the city and within the national drinks industry and Fat Media is now busy working on new seasonal beer pump-clip designs.
York Brewery Managing Director Andrew Barker said:
“Following substantial investment in recent years in other areas of operations we realised we needed to update our company image in order to achieve long-term sustainability for the company.
“Fat Media were brought in to examine the brand, visual identity and portfolio of drinks with a view to bringing the brand in line with the 21st century.
“The excellent result allows us to position ourselves as a leading independent brewer. Our new brand successfully retains an ‘established’ feel while reflecting the premium quality of our award-winning ales.
“It enhances our professional image and brings consistency across our portfolio and we’re now working on further extension of the new branding across all corporate material, bottled beers, pub venues and vehicle livery.”
